How to visit every must-see country this year

If you have ever made a New Year’s resolution to travel more, now is the time to start planning your next trip! With so many fabulous cities and sights to see, it can be hard to choose which one to pick. Perhaps you are looking for sunshine and beaches, or maybe a chance to view the Northern Lights? Whatever takes your fancy, the whole world is just waiting for you.

There are many ways to visit the cities and countries you fancy most. You could fly or travel by train. One of the most popular ways to see lots of countries and cities in just a few days is to cruise. Cruise liners are luxurious ships providing a grand home from home while you sail from country to country in style. Cabins are often as big as a regular bedroom and include private bathrooms. Fine dining is included in the price, and food is available all day. There are always several bars to choose from and fantastic evening entertainment.

Some ships have cinemas, ice rinks and swimming pools. Other facilities include fitness studios and gyms, spas and beauty parlours, and even childcare facilities. There is plenty to do on board, but many people cruise for the opportunity to visit cities from the ports. Australia, New Zealand and Asia are among the most exotic places to cruise. The Caribbean and Mediterranean are the most popular. Cruising around Northern Europe to take in the Aurora Borealis, and St. Petersburg is popular in the winter time.

Excursions are often paid for as extras at the end of the cruise, but there are usually several choices from each port stop. You can check with an agent like Cruise1st, or with the cruise line. Activities include city sights or shopping, theme parks, and archaeological sites. Swimming with Dolphins or visiting a winery may be just what you were hoping for. While the full and detailed list of excursions may not be available until you board, most operators can give you a good idea of what will be on offer from each port.

Of course, it is not essential to leave the ship at all if you don’t want to. While the ship is in port, you can enjoy a quiet stroll around the deck, or even enjoy a quieter period in the gym. Some people catch up on their reading while enjoying the sun. Others like to catch up on their sleep after a big night on board! Whatever your preference, a cruise could be just the thing to cross off lots of those must-see locations on your bucket list.
