Hotel Review: Hotel Absalon, Copenhagen
If you like bright colours, friendly staff and top of the range furnishings then Absalon is your hotel! Super central and less than two minutes walk from the main train station it is walkable to just about everywhere in the city.
When I first visited Copenhagen two years ago I stayed at Hotel Absalon’s sister hotel, Hotel Andersen which is conveniently located across the road.
I remember my gorgeous pink room complete with a chocolate welcome and friendly arrival. When offered the chance to return to their new hotel I happily agreed.
The Absalon had the same funky but comforting feel, but this time my room colour was coordinated with my purple suitcase and laptop. Perfect.
The breakfast was simple but fresh and tasty and I loved the crockery. I’d always prefer some bacon and eggs, but I satisfied my naughty food cravings with toast and Nutella and one of Denmark’s world famous pastries!
The ground floor has loads of comfy seating areas, including bean bag rooms, sofas, books and fresh drinks. I love the styling and though my room was great I found myself spending some time sitting working in the foyer to watch the world go by while nestling into a beanbag.
For 100kroner (less than £10) you can hire one of the hotel’s bikes for the day, which I highly recommend. Cycling is the best way to get around the city and you can soon pick it up and act like a local!
For a short break in the city I definitely recommend the Absalon Hotel or their sister hotel across the road Anderson Hotel. Friendly staff, tasty breakfast and brand spanking new clean, modern rooms. Perfect!
Room rates start at about 100k (approximately £100) per room per night and include breakfast. Visit their website for information and booking.
I stayed as a guest of Absalon but as always all opinion are 100% my own.
