The best place to stay on Caye Caulker, Belize.
Whilst travelling in Belize in May I got to truly live my dream life, travelling the world whilst making a living. As you might have heard me go on about already I visited Guatemala, Belize, Mallorca and Italy, back to back over the space of a few weeks.
Visiting Central Amercica on behalf of the Central American tourism board was a dream come true, I only wish I could have had longer to explore more. I stayed in some gorgeous places, but by far one of my favourites was the Island Magic Beach Resort on Caye Caulker.
After much research I was certain that Caye Caulker was the island to visit. A perfect mix of chilled vibes, good food options and a fun nightlife. Island Beach Magic resort is THE place to stay on the island and here are my reasons why.
5 reasons you should stay at Island Magic Beach Resort
1 – The swimming pool
Regularly voted the number one swimming pool on the island, it was the perfect temperature in May to cool down from the sun, without sending freezing shock waves through the body like some cold pools too. The small ‘hot tub’ like pool at the top is a heavenly place to enjoy an early afternoon cocktail or two and when quiet the kind bar man will often bring you a top up without having to leave the side of the pool.
The only down side is not being able to see the sea from the pool, but the walled pool area also gives extra privacy from roaming tourists and locals.
2 – The Beachside Bar
Ok so even if you don’t stay here you still need to drink here or eat here. The food menu is small but they have a delicious ceviche and the bar man will make you whatever cocktail your heart desires. Personally though I was happy with the local favourite… a Panty Ripper… that’s Rum and Pineapple… what were you thinking?!

3 – Hammocks!
Every room has a hammock on the balcony… I mean what is not to love about that?
4 – The self catered rooms
The rooms each come with their own mini kitchens, complete with fridge, hob, and plenty of glasses, plates and utensils needed to cook yourself a tasty treat with local fresh fruit and veg.
If I had the choice between staying somewhere basic and eating out every night or staying here and eating in a couple of nights to save money, I would definitely pick here. The restaurants aren’t as cheap as you might imagine, but head to the local markets and shops and you are sure to get a bargain!
5 – The friendly smiling staff
We were instantly made to feel welcome by Josue, the front of house staff member, who showed us around our room and told us we had been upgraded to a sea view room… why thank you 🙂
The bar staff always had a smile on their face too… though who wouldn’t with views out to turquoise waters all day long?
All in all if was the perfect place to stay for a few days on a perfect island. If you are going to Belize you have to visit Caye Caulker and you must stay at Island Magic Beach Resort… that’s an order!

I was invited to review the Island Magic Beach Resort but everything I write above is a true and honest review of my stay there.
Pool and bar? I’m sold! Not sure about a panty ripper. Might just stick to plain rum. Will check it out on my next trip
This looks lovely, although I have to say I had an awesome time at Bella’s Hostel myself. Caye Caulker is such an awesome place. I booked two nights and stayed a week!
