4 resorts to visit in Tenerife
Tenerife is the largest of the Canary islands and offers beach holidays, active holidays and relaxing spa breaks. The sun shines all year round and the island is filled with amazing scenery, including Mount Teide which is Spain’s highest peak, Tenerife is a great place to visit.
Here are a few of the best resorts to stay on in the island and what there is to do there.
Costa Adeje
This is the newest resort on Tenerife and one of the most luxurious. Featuring beautiful sandy beaches, plush hotels and modern attractions, it’s a great choice for those who like all mod cons on the doorstep. The town is packed full of excellent restaurants and great activities to try, such as watersports, golf, two water parks, bowling, and Go Karting. You have to visit Siam Park, located in Tenerife South in the Costa Adeje resort.
There’s also a shopping centre featuring a cinema and indoor play area if you want to get out of the sun for a while. It’s a great base for couples or families from which to explore the island.
Playa de las Americas
With a reputation for partying like Ibiza Playa de las Americas has often not been given the best of the press. However, if you steer clear of Las Veronicas and the Starco Centre, you’ll find the real Playa de las Americas has so much more to offer than disco bars and a lively nightlife. With great beaches, designer shopping and fantastic restaurants it’s a great resort to visit for those who like to be in the heart of the action.
Los Cristianos
Los Cristianos is only twenty minutes from Playa de las Americas so could make a perfect day trip. Once a sleepy fishing village it is now home to a family orientated resort. There are amazing restaurants, a varied nightlife to suit every taste, and fantastic beaches offering watersports, volleyball and more. Plus it’s close to an animal park and the waterparks at Costa Adeje.
Puerto de Santiago
If the real Tenerife is what you want to see from your holiday, look no further than Puerto de Santiago. This pretty fishing village on the west of the island is the place to relax, enjoy local walks, sunbathe and enjoy local Canarian cuisine.
